Wilde Arme 4

Age of Empire: The Age of Kings

Some publishers are content with taking an older title, cleaning up a little code, and publishing the title on whatever the hot, new portable console is at the time. When we first heard that Age of Empire was coming to the DS, that’s what we feared would happen. Fortunately, Majesco did us a solid by creating a completely new title for the DS, one that leverages the strengths of the handheld while still providing turn-based strategists a superb title. The Bible Game

I am guessing the vast majority of gamers have never been inside a Family Christian Bookstore, much less ever received one of their catalogs in the mail. Truth be told, a good deal of merchandise sold at these places do a good job at enlightening, encouraging and edifying church going people. I am cool with that part, but then there is “Jesus Junk”. This is stuff that is made for no other purpose than to make money off of Christians and further create a Christian subculture. This includes things like Bibleoply and Bible Scategories. Seriously, does there really need to be a Christian version of Scategories to provide better wholesome family entertainment? Read more
Lord of the Ring: Tactics

Giganto game publisher, Electronic Arts, is a big fan of exclusive licenses. Besides owning the exclusives rights for almost every professional sport games known to man, EA now also holds the exclusive rights to produce video games based on the epic Lord of The Rings cannon. LoTR: Tactics is the first game to fall under this license, although not the first LoTR title published by the company. Read more
Star Wars: Empire at War

We’ll do you a favor, dear reader, and skip the obligatory “A long time ago” introduction to LucasArts latest Star Wars title. Instead, we would like to briefly draw your attention to the mostly-recent, very-broken, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and assure you that Star Wars: Empire at War not only doesn’t suck, but also might completely make up for any crappy LucasArts title ever made before. Bold words, no doubt, but we think developer Petroglyph really put their heart and soul into this title. Read more

Every four years, athletes and spectators from around the globe converge for the sports of the Winter Olympics. These trials are generally held in far off and exotic locations, filled with beautiful landscape and unfamiliar national anthems — although sometimes they land in places like, say, Utah. Regardless of location, the Winter Olympics gives fans of the colder sports an opportunity to yell and cheer. Read more
Electroplankton

Electroplankton is notably the first not-really-a-game game that we have seriously had problems putting down. Only our need to review other DS titles eventually ejected the title, but even then it was done reluctantly. Combining the whimsy of a nice wind-chime with the poking and wiggling of the DS stylus, Electroplankton is a cartridge we think any toddler, adult, or European DJ needs to own. We seriously, seriously love Electroplankton. Read more
Resident Evil 4

I have a friend that lives in North Carolina that for the longest time was bugging me to get a Nintendo GameCube again. I had one in the past, but it didn’t have many games that I enjoyed (platformers) and I was quite happy with my PS2 and Xbox. But when Resident Evil 4 came out, I was truly impressed. I played it for a little while on his big screen TV, but I knew I wasn’t going to go rush out and buy a GameCube for just one game, no matter how good it was. Disappointed that it wasn’t released on any other platform, I held firm and did not purchase a GameCube. Read more
25 to Life

Hitting the shelves January 2006, 25 to Life is a third person shooter developed by Avalanche Software and published by Eidos Interactive. Avalanche has taken part in many games, including Tak and Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, but this mediocre clone of most third person shooters of the PS1 era is nothing ground breaking and isn’t much fun to play.
