The Godfather himself is calling on you to help the family overthrow NYC. Kill, steal, pillage, yes, but whatever you do, don’t cross the Godfather. Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach

Many of us had a misspent youth. But whereas most “normal” people misspent theirs in the pool hall, smoking and swilling Bud, I was hiding behind a cardboard screen, rolling icosahedron shaped dice and cackling at my players. Yes, I was a teenage dungeon master. And now, Turbine’s latest MMORPG, Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, has tempted me out of retirement and back into third edition rules D&D. Read more
Worms: Open Warefare

The 3-D incarnations of the Worms series, to be brutally honest, have been a travesty to what was once a proud and astonishingly addictive series. Right from that very first incarnation, over a decade ago back in 1995, launched on an incredibly large range of consoles, we’ve all at one time or another succumbed to the delights of the multiplayer action, and all chuckled as an exploding sheep just happens to cause your opponent’s last worm to perish. Tetris DS
April 20, 2006 by PTD Contributor · Leave a Comment
Tetris, the venerable puzzler created by Alexey Pajitnov, has finally made its inevitable way to the Nintendo DS. Not being a Tetris master from the days of the NES (or earlier), I still found Tetris DS dragging me into the clutches of its addicting gameplay and quick-thinking madness. Read more
Super Monkey Ball: Touch & Roll

The various iterations of the Super Monkey Ball series have never been simple tasks to complete. With the deft and delicate touch required to prod the analogue stick with the required dexterity to fling your sphere-encased simian around the puzzle-based obstacle courses being difficult at best, gamers who managed to master its nuances are few and far between. Metroid Prime: Hunters

Many of you may remember the demo cart that was packed with every Nintendo DS at launch. It’s hard to believe that the demo was the precursor to a game that would take another 17 months to make its way to retailer shelves. Yet Metroid Prime: Hunters is here and Retro Studios has managed to create a robust and compelling title for their first DS outing. Read more
Mega Man Powered Up

Mega Man Powered Up is a remake of the first Mega Man for the NES, and as such it’s fairly true to the original. The graphics have been updated to PSP standards, but where Capcom’s other Mega Man PSP iteration, Maverick Hunter X, is cool and hard, Powered Up takes a more soft and cartoony approach. We get a big-headed Mega Man who sets out to defeat Dr. Wily and his robots, stolen from Dr. Light and reprogrammed to serve evil. Read more
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X

I like to call Capcom’s former platform-star the blue dweeb. That’s the self-titled 80s cartoon’s fault, it ruined Mega Man for me, destroyed his coolness and degraded him to a poorly animated pile of trash. Then again, the Battle Network series for Game Boy Advance and the 3-D version of Mega Man for the PSone didn’t really help the former superstar out. Gaming celebrities lead a hard life, just ask John Romero – and he’s not even made of pixels! Read more
DJ Max Portable

With portable consoles being typically region-free machines, the import market is just as important as each region’s home releases. DJ Max Portable, a PSP music title released only in Asia for instance, hasn’t a hope of release in the US or Europe, thanks to anime stylings and Beatmania-esque gameplay. Read more
