Mega Man Powered Up

Mega Man Powered Up is a remake of the first Mega Man for the NES, and as such it’s fairly true to the original. The graphics have been updated to PSP standards, but where Capcom’s other Mega Man PSP iteration, Maverick Hunter X, is cool and hard, Powered Up takes a more soft and cartoony approach. We get a big-headed Mega Man who sets out to defeat Dr. Wily and his robots, stolen from Dr. Light and reprogrammed to serve evil. Read more

I like to call Capcom’s former platform-star the blue dweeb. That’s the self-titled 80s cartoon’s fault, it ruined Mega Man for me, destroyed his coolness and degraded him to a poorly animated pile of trash. Then again, the Battle Network series for Game Boy Advance and the 3-D version of Mega Man for the PSone didn’t really help the former superstar out. Gaming celebrities lead a hard life, just ask John Romero – and he’s not even made of pixels! Read more

DJ Max Portable

With portable consoles being typically region-free machines, the import market is just as important as each region’s home releases. DJ Max Portable, a PSP music title released only in Asia for instance, hasn’t a hope of release in the US or Europe, thanks to anime stylings and Beatmania-esque gameplay. Read more
