Indie fun for everyone.

This tasty gem is delightfully reminiscent of PacMan. Purely indie, there is nothing that one might do other than be reminded that the music is not in the game, there for be grateful, and go play. Thank you PrincessWay games for tantalizing us with this tasty treat.
Operation Immortality comes in the form of MMORPG, who knew?

What would you do to be the apart of the time capsule that saved humanity? Tabula Rasa explores the destruction of Earth. A MMORPG that investigates the possibilities, will be linked with Operation Immortality. NCSoft’s Richard Garrett is determined that humanity will not die out.
Launching the saved game into space in October 2008 as well as DNA sequences of several people is just the tip of the iceberg for the “Immortality Drive”, the time capsule that is being developed to be launched into space. Today through August 31, 2008, players can send messages and participate in polls that will be apart of the digitized capsule. A select few players will be chosen to have their DNA sequenced, digitized and sent into space on the Immortality Drive.
So, what would you do to achieve immortality? The game is designed to think about what exactly you might do in the event of world cataclysmic annihilation. Personally, I would be mad that the only representation from Earth that was left is a MMORPG. Come on people, we can do better than that! It’s things like this that give good geeks a bad name.
BioWare gives more Mass to Mass Effect
July 29, 2008 by ibaker · Leave a Comment
If you are familiar with Commander Shepard and their quest to save millions of innocent civilians, then you will be pleased to note that BioWare is bringing downloadable content to the PC game. Bring Down the Sky is to be the first in a series of expansions for the game.
Ninety minutes of game play will include a new uncharted world that introduces the deadly Batarian alien race as well as bringing you deeper into the Mass Effect universe in itself. A new original soundtrack is introduced to tantalize the senses and deviate from the musical titration of the game that have already pleased the mind.
BioWare seems set on keeping this game fresh and vibrant. So if you have not ventured into the universe, dip a toe in and get ready to dive in head first. There is much to see, even the most hardened against the genre will be curious and venture to take a look into the vast expanse of the Mass Effect.

I promise that OKC FragFest is still in fact in effect. If you drove by and it appeared that there were no vehicles there then the cloaking shields were in full effect and working properly. Thank you force fields!
So, GO! PLAY your little hearts out and regale me with your winnings tomorrow when it is all over with on the forums. After all, I must miss the fun as I sit here in Tulsa, far away. Have fun!

Warhammer Creative Director to talk at Comic-Con
July 25, 2008 by ibaker · Leave a Comment
Paul Barnett, creative director for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is going to be at Comic-Con International to give a talk on the game this Saturday in San Diego. The topic is “How do you take an entire universe with years of rich storytelling behind it and transfer it seamlessly—and in a compelling way!—to a new medium?”
EA Mythic’s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is hoping to bring the game to it’s namesake by showing the online gaming community that you take a massively huge storyline and incorporate it into MMORPG and still keep people coming back for more. With high hopes to keep their loyal fanbase jumping to the online game, as well as enticing more sentients to play, this talk in San Diego is hopefully a sounding board for the people to express what they would like to see and for communication on how to make the game all that more effective.
As usual, the will be brought by the one who has the biggest voice. So, if you just happen to be in San Diego, check out Comic-Con International and listen in for the plans, maybe you, too, will get to share your two cents. If you are not, then, just keep your eyes on the horizon, even if it isn’t all that you expected it to be, once it’s online, The Age of Reckoning may still be everything you ever dreamed. After all, it is a MMORPG, the power is in your hands.
GameCock ‘Taps’ into the subscription scene
July 24, 2008 by ibaker · Leave a Comment
Three words. Game. Tap. Cock. Mix them all together, separate them up, you get two amazing companies. Mix them together again and you get games to play at your whimsy. GameCock Media presenting with games that are delightful to enjoy, GameTap with the medium to play.
Up for your gaming pleasure will be various releases that GameCock Media has both previously released and is going to release. In typical GameTap fashion all the games will be available for purchase and through the subscription play system. Predicted games to be released through GameTap will be Velvet Assassin and Legendary, just to name a few. Insecticide and Stronghold Crusader Extreme will be available very soon, as well.
Fortunately for us, these game developers care enough to get their games to us in a format that will allow us to fully enjoy independent games without experiencing the impact of the stab to the wallet that our economy has given us. Imbibing of the indie revolution, playing games that are subscribed through GameTap may not be the industry ideal, however, for the consumer, this may well be the wave that major players should opt to ride. After all, when the gamer wallet shrivels up and dries out, who wins? Certainly not Nintendo. Viva la PC resistance. This broadband gaming network is just gaining more and more steam and, in this case, GameCock.
