If you’ve been reading PTD Magazine for a while, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that we like zombies. We like zombie games, zombie movies and even an occasional zombie outbreak. Because of this fervor, it was hard to contain our excitement when the web-based Urban Dead came up for review. Every now and then, gamers find a fun game that doesn’t concentrate on graphics, doesn’t appeal to the eyes, and doesn’t give your fingers a good workout. These games are appealing because they give your brain a good workout. These are games that cause you to think, strategize, and plan. If there is fault in your plan, you lose. How many of you like me out there remember playing great games like Worms and Pocket Tanks? Oh! The fun we had with those games. Nothing better than blowing you opponent into the water with a cow gun, huh? Imagine if you could have played a game like that with people from around the world. Well, now you can with Gunbound: World Champion, a worldwide avatar battle team game created by the Korean company, Softnyx. In 2004, Softnyx realized how amazingly addictive the game was becoming, so made worldwide gameplay a primary feature. What is it about free games that sends us game druggies to multiple URLs all across the web? Is the graphics? No, it can’t be that because thousands of gamers play less than 1024 by 768 resolution games on and offline for free all the time. Is it the content? Hackers are a growing breed, constantly learning more and teaching others. Hacking is a game to hackers. The adversary is that “secure” computer just begging to be cracked.
