A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, a legend was born. A long time ago being 2000 and a galaxy far far away being Korea. NCsoft released Lineage in mid-2000 and it instantly became a smash hit, generating more subscriptions then even Everquest. However, Lineage did not make a great impact when it finally made it to the U.S. in 2001. At the time, the graphics seemed dated to us spoiled Americans, and we were all too busy making Osama bin Laden jokes to notice a dated computer game. Read more
EverQuest 2

I remember the old days … days of sneaking through Blackburrow with my cleric, trying not to be seen by a pack of gnolls; laying my life on the line for that epic quest item. I remember playing EverQuest. Things have changed since then my friends … sort of. Here we are with our shiny new copies of EverQuest 2, ready to once again raid the Blackburrow encampment. I wonder what kind of new innovations they have made with their second installment. I wonder what new wonders lie in wait for me. Read more

Guild Wars: Nightfall

I never really got stuck on World of Warcraft, as those who know me can atest. I played it for a while, got bored, logged off, paid for it for months, and then got pissed off at Blizzard for not canceling my account. The Guild Wars games appeal to me in a lot of ways, one being that I appreciate the no monthly fees approach. Not that I’m very sensitive about that but still. Read more

If the name of a game is suppose to accurately describe the content, then Deep Labyrinth is a misnomer. While the game is a labyrinth, the gameplay is anything but deep. Released for PlayStation in 2000, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth returns for the PSP. For those who’ve never had the chance of playing Valkyrie Profile because of its scarcity, here’s the story. Asgard, world of the gods, is being plagued by war. The end of the world is close at hand, and Ragnarok is coming. Odin has chosen Lenneth, a battle-maiden, to seek out warrior souls in Midgard, the mortal world.
