ADVENTURE QUEST

What is it about free games that sends us game druggies to multiple URLs all across the web? Is the graphics? No, it can’t be that because thousands of gamers play less than 1024 by 768 resolution games on and offline for free all the time. Is it the content? No, most free games lack the aspect of a game that causes us to think, “Just one more level, then I’ll go to class”, for the eighth time. The reason is because it is… well… free.
Free games feed the small cravings that we get in between classes or right after we eat so we can calmly digest the food our physical bodies need (stupid body, always wastes precious gaming time).
But can a free online flash game become so enjoyable that a gamer will put aside a game he or she actually paid for? Yes it can. I’m speaking specifically of a flash-animated RPG called ADVENTURE QUEST.
ADVENTURE QUEST is a free play role-playing game where you can make as many characters as you like. Though the only race you may choose is human, your character class can range from fighter to necromancer, wizard to pirate, even a dragon-slayer or ninja! Your character will begin in the town of Battleon talking to a furry little moglin called Twilly. Twilly explains what is going on in the small town, offers to heal you when you are low on health, and hooks you up with some fine quests. These quests help you gain access to the gold and experience you will need to decide what class is best for you. After you decide what class you want to be, you must find the trainer of that class and then go through some kind of test to see if you are ready to begin training. When you complete the test and are deemed ready, you must buy the armor or robes of that class to begin your training.
Each class has ten ranks to achieve, with each rank earned by completing a certain quest that your trainer gives you. After gaining each rank, your character will be able to cast a new spell, boost his or her defense, or even summon a dragon! A character can reach levels above seventy, thus enabling you to have a character with multiple classes. You could create a wizard dragon-slaying paladin, a fighting werewolf mage, or even a pirate ninja (wow, the ultimate warrior)!
This great and notoriously addictive free online flash RPG can be found at http://www.battleon.com. The game content will make you think you have to pay, and you may find yourself wanting to pay for more. It is not required to pay; however, if you pay a one time fee (of $19.95 U.S.), you gain guardian access. Being a guardian allows you to have more quests, more gold, more friends, more enemies, and access to weekly special guardian events. Well worth the money.
ADVENTURE QUEST is a great game to kick back and relax with after working all those community service hours for pirating video games.
