Hey guys! I broke 5K yesterday and had a couple sorties waiting for me on the other side. Needless to say, I lost all my loitering fleets and resources.
I've been thinking about retaliation, and have come to a couple conclusions. Feel free to pipe in with your thoughts.
- My colony in the middle of nowhere (galaxy 3) has yet to be attacked, even though it has the most resources and least defenses. I'm thinking about making it my center for research and building and use my other closer colonies for the offensive bits.
- Solar sats are unreliable. I learned this the hard way — invest in solar plants when you can afford to.
- Don't forget to fleet save — I blame Defcon and our server upgrade for my lack of ships now. I could have sent them on a 72+ plus hour trip and would still have the points to show.
I think I'm going to start building IPM's to lob in the direction of these raiders. We'll see what they think of that.

So, I now have access to Plasma Turrets. It seems like they're comparable to owning a destroyer.
I'm not sure how much good they'll do though. I've been hit recently by
1. A guy sending a single deathstar
2. A guy sending 200 battlecruisers
From what I can tell, it would take somewhere between 25-50 plasmas to counter either of these attacks. I'm just not sure that it's worth it - it might be better to just keep moving resources around so that I don't lose anything if I AM attacked.

Holy cow - a deathstar!
I've decided to focus only on pumping up my tech (via hording all my assets on Bilge III7) to a point I can create an arsenal of IPM and a defense to deter people.
So here's my thought: I'll happily offer my missile lobbing service to any clan member that needs them. I should be able to purchase and deploy IPMs in the next two days.

Well, that sounds like a good way to tick some people off - I'll enjoy hearing how it goes.
To be honest, I'm not too sure what my next goal should be. I would like to build the big ships (destroyers, battlecruiser, mabye even a deathstar), so maybe I will just keep hording resources and turning them into research.
To be honest, I never attack anyone with a fleet and/or defense, so I'm not too sure why I want all these big ships. Just to be cool, I guess. I would be fun to be the jerk who marches his deathstar into a neighboring planet knowing they have no hope of defending themselves.
