So you asked us all about colonization. I'm up to four colonies. Two in galaxy 2, one in Galaxy 4 and one in galaxy 1 (next to Lorien)… In general, there aren't many colony spaces to be had - I believe this is because there are now 14000 people in universe 40 and there just isn't room for everyone to have good colonlies in galaxy one.
Three of my colonies are 160 fields or better, and the one in galaxy one is 88. I will probably end up destroying it eventually, but it will work fine for now. At any rate, here is my advice: If you don't already know, look for planets in the slots 4-6 first and then in slots 7-9 and then in slots 10-12. I probably wouldn't take a planet in slots 1-3 or 13-15 since you are pretty much guarenteed a small planet. You might want to keep your eyes out for spots that say “destroyed planet” on them. They are reset to an open spot around 1:00 server time (which is late afternoon to us) So, if you find a destroyed planet in a spot you like, you should check right after 1:00 server time and see if it's open, and if it is, you will be racing others like you to see who can reach that spot first.
I have had two colonization missions fail when someone else made it to the spot first.
