Jack Thompson Receives Notice of Disbarment
September 25, 2008 by Matthew Moore
The anti-violent video game attorney, has 30 days before official disbarment.
Whether you agree with his opinions or not, Jack Thompson has been highly involved in the video game industry over the years. However today, he received his disbarment notice from the Florida Supreme Court. After the ruling of permanent disbarment, in July’s Florida Bar vs Jack Thompson case, the outspoken lawyer will have 30 days to close his practice and tie up loose ends with his clients, as well as pay $43,675 in legal fees to the Florida State Bar.
Jack Thompson was hit with a laundry list of accusations after the conclusion of his case in July. Florida Supreme Court Justice Dava Tunis, pinned him on many different unruly conduct charges including sending courts inappropriate and offensive sexual materials, falsely accusing attorneys, clients, and judges of conspiracy with the “criminal distribution” of offensive material to minors, and even accusing judges of “fixing” cases. However in the end, the game industry will definitely feel the effects of the departure of Jack Thompson’s law practices.

Unfortunately, he probably still has a fast internet connection to troll with.
Well, things certainly are not looking up for him.
This will however not be the last we will hear from him. He will however be weakened greatly because of this.
