Tiga to Speak Up in Defense of Games

September 19, 2008 by JayPTD

Tiga, the game developers association in the UK, has decided to tackle the misconceptions held by politicians and elected officials about video games by going straight to the source, agreeing to speak this weekend at the Labour Party Conference.

I only wish more game developer associations had this level of initiative.

According to this report by Gamesindustry.biz, Tiga CEO Richard Wilson will be joining the MP of culture Margaret Hodge and Iain Bennett of the Northwest Regional Development Agency, at the Celebrating the Gaming Industry fringe event.

Wilson pointed out in the article that “the gaming industry faces challenges but it remains a success story that more politicians need to know about.”

Sage advice, I really want to know what is stopping game developers associations in the U.S. from taking action in this manner.
