Kicking habits may be as simple as casual gaming

Have an addiction you are having trouble breaking?  Surveys suggest that the solution lies in casual gaming.  Might it really be so simple?

Think about all the things you do to avoid your negative habits.  I used to be a smoker, until I finally used medication to kick the habit, however, I was pretty determined to change my lifestyle as well.  While I may have used a medication to help out, I had to consciously choose to change everything I did every single day.  Including, not becoming a hand to mouth individual.

I knew that meant I did not want to eat as an alternative, as this was not an addiction I wanted, either, after all, my girth was more than I was willing to contend with already.  So, I chose to participate in other gaming activities like hidden object games.  Big Fish Games, GameHouse, and other such sites were my best friends, when I couldn’t stand doing anything else.

The focus and concentration were such blissful distractions from the desire to light up or eat a pound of chocolate.  Word games sharpened my concentration and helped me keep focused and interested in something that peaked my curiosity into words again, causing me to renew my love affair with writing again.

Longer, more involved RPG styled games gradually kept my interested for greater periods of time without that need to get up and breath that stale air of smoke.  Finally, I realized, I was no longer a smoker, rather, I was a full on breather of fresh blissful clean air, and if I really wanted to admit it, a hopelessly addicted geek.  Then again, I think I always knew that.
