Since its release, the iPhone has really come into its own as a platform for gaming, releasing titles that have done surprisingly well for themselves, as shown here and here. Social Gaming Extends to Mobile Platforms

Online social gaming no longer has to be confined to computers and consoles.
Mytopia, known for their efforts in real-time cross-platform gaming, have announced at the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2008 that they plan to expand their online social gaming community from Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, hi5 and Friendster, to mobile devices such as the Iphone, Blackberry, Symbian, PalmOS and Windows Mobile. Spore coming to iPhone, 9 more

EA announced today that Spore Origins, a FLOW’esque mini-version of Spore built specifically for the iPhone and iPod Touch will be available for purchase later this month. The game will be the forerunner of a group of nine games currently in development by EA for the iPhone/Touch platform. Read more
