Master Higgins as some call him, though he probably prefers to be called by his given name, Toshiyuki Takahashi, will be making his first appearance in the US in 20 years. Toshiyuki Takahashi plans to support the release of the Wii’s DECA SPORTS at GameStop’s Tournament store in San Jose, California.

Toshiyuki Takahashi, was appointed “Master” in 2006 by Hudson Entertainment, has been a vital part of the company since 1982. If you do not remember the Adventure Island series, in which his self-based character launched his fame, I recommend digging it up, blowing the dust off of it, and taking it for a whirl. It will bring back a sense of nostalgia that sink you into a love affair with classic gaming all over again. Just surface long enough to bring your wive’s or girlfriend’s flowers once in a while, otherwise they might realize that gaming really is more important than them.

The tournament is on a first come, first serve basis, so if you are in the San Jose area, check it out. For the rest of us, Toshiyuki makes appearances periodically in Japan as well as on his popular blog, 16Shot. As for DECA SPORTS, it is guaranteed to get your blood pumping, and what hardcore gamer couldn’t use just a wii bit more exercise.
